AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

About the Program

The Willkie House is a community partner of Des Moines Public Schools.  We provide academic reinforcement in  a structured but fun atmosphere. The Afterschool Program operates Monday to Friday, 2:40 pm to 6:00 pm, when Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS) are in session. The afterschool program is FREE for middle schoolers.

 

Willkie House provides:

  • Free after school pick up

  • Homework/Tutoring Assistance

  • Snacks  for all participants each day

  • Fun indoor and outdoor activities for the kids

Transportation is provided from the following partner schools:

​

  • Elementary Schools: Downtown, Edmunds, Greenwood, Hubbell, Perkins & Walnut Street

  • Middle Schools: Callanan & Merrill​
